John Visbal, President and founder of East Bay Logistics worked in logistics management and provided 3rd party logistics services to companies such as The Emporium, Longs Drugs, Wanamaker's, and Woodward &Lothrop.

East Bay Logistics was started to provide 3rd party outsourcing of cocoa beans and related products to the Bay Area Chocolate companies. East Bay Logistics has expanded to include storage and distribution of cocoa beans, cocoa powder and butter as well as melting cocoa butter.

In 2006, East Bay Logistics entered the coffee storage business and offers service to producers, importers, and specialty roasters. The coffee business is operated from a separate facility located approximately 1 mile from the cocoa warehouse.
