Cocoa OfficeCurrent President and CEO, John Visbal, founded the company in 1997 after a career in retail distribution and 3rd party logistics including stints with The Emporium, Broadway Stores, Long's Drugs, Wanamaker and Woodward &Lothrop. Visbal has served on the Board of the Pacifc Coast Coffee Association, California Autism Foundation, and The Alternative Board. He has served as CEO of the California Autism Foundation since 2008. Visbal has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from University of San Francisco and an MBA in Entrepreneurship from California State University, Hayward.
East Bay Logistics began as a service to the West Coast chocolate manufacturers and importers of green cocoa beans. EBL expanded to include cocoa butter melting services, storage and distribution of related cocoa products. EBL Coffee was founded in 2006 to serve specialty coffee roasters and importers of green coffee in Northern California. EBL Coffee LA was founded in 2011 to serve coffee roasters in Los Angeles and the importers of green coffee to the LA market.
